Reflexology is a relaxing, effective and enjoyable way to maintain your wellbeing. Working in a similar way to acupuncture through the use of pressure (without the needles!) - specific areas of the foot are targeted to treat various parts of the system.

Reflexology is believed to have originated in either China or Egypt – some 4000 years ago. The practice was introduced to the West by the Americans in the early 19 Century – quickly growing in popularity.

The basis of Reflexology lies in the belief that the feet mirror the body, as the very root of our being. Sections of the feet relate to certain organs and areas of the body. Particularly due to modern lifestyles and diet, blockages can occur in various parts of the body, characterized by hard crystalline deposits on the base of the foot. Reflexology employs a gently pressurised massage technique to disperse such blockages to assist the area in returning to a fully-functional state.

Other areas of benefit include:

  • Physical and emotional stress
  • Particularly effective for sinusitis & allergies (especially hay fever)
  • Insomnia
  • IBS
  • Water retention (Oedema)
  • Hormonal imbalance
  • Detoxification
  • Pregnancy

The technique is immensely relaxing, and when used regularly as part of a healthy regime can be extremely beneficial in maintaining the system.

Joanne: "Reflexology's strength lies in its ability to treat the entire body, inside and out, from head to toe.  Its non-intrusive nature also makes it well suited for pregnancy.  I would recommend six treatments as a full course - or try one to see how it works for you."
